UV POWER
From: PKW To: MARTYGOODMAN
MARTY–
IF YOU RECALL THE ADVICE YOU GAVE CONCERNING TESTING AN EPROMMER– YOU
MENTIONED PRGRAMMING A
DOZEN OR SO EPROMS WITH ALL 1′S, THEN PLACING EACH AN IDENTICAL DISTANCE AND
PLACEMENT UNDER A UV LIGHT FOR 15 SECONDS EACH.
WHAT RANGE OF WATTAGE FOR THE UV LIGHT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT, AND WHAT DISTANCE?
I BET IT DOEN NOT HAVE TO BE >>TOO< < PARTICULAR,
BUT THE UV LIGHT AVAILABLE TO ME COULD MELT THE POLAR ICE CAP.

The wattage and the distance are worthless parameters..
uttterly meaningless!!!!
Set up yer system so that the EPROM is not completely
eraseed in less than one minute (for that would indicate
too strong UV that might damage the chip).
Also, set it up so that it takes at least 30 seconds
for the first bits to fade… that will allow you to
make more accurate timings on the system.
