Further Correction for Malcolm Mortar
From: MARTYGOODMAN To: ALL
I just was informed by ZACKS and LINLEE of yet another careless
error I made in the instructions for putting Malcolm Mortar
to disk. It seems I typed “01″ as one of the last data values
instead of the “03″ that I intended.
Please now recheck message 42574, which should now FINALLY
contain the correct approach for putting MM on disk.

Marty, Third time’s the charm! Your Malcolm Mortar transfer to disk message
#42574 now works fine. Not bad for someone who doesn’t know the difference
between 18 and 26.

As one of the very first CoCo users to burn out both a CPU and SAM chip
due to unplugging a ROM pak, I vowed to do all I could
to prevent that from happenning to others. THAT, more than
anything else, has motivated my publicising ROM pak transfers.
As it happens, there will be eventually one or two ROM paks
that will be pretty much UNTRANSFERRABLE to disk. But most
should still be transferrable.

Remember the ole MicroText ROMpak that used the FIRQ for timing? Try
putting THAT one on disk sometime!?!?

Quibbling:
That Microtext ROM pak (that I once reverse engineered)
was, of course, NOT strictly a ROM pak. It had HARDWARE
on it (the time base generator) too!
nya nya nya!

Time base generator? I had the vague impression that Microtext
used the cartridge FIRQ for its
timing. Not so?

I may have lost or thrown out my schematics of that thing.
If I can find them, I will check and get back to you.
