I have a version of DriveWire HDB-DOS that has been patched to use the Wireless Pak rather than the bit-banger port (it will also work with a wired serial pak). I can make it available to you if you like, but you would need the ability to burn an EPROM.

    Darren,
Drivewire HDB-DOS is small enough to fit in an 8K EPROM so it actually can be loaded from disk. Is your version large enough to require a 16K EPROM?

Will your version work with an RS-232 pak? If so, would you post the source code?

Yes, it does fit in an 8K EPROM and will work with an RS-232 pak (assuming the ACIA in the pak will operate at 115,200 bps).

The source is a full disassembly of Disk Basic 1.1 with HDB-DOS DriveWire and my own patches blended into it. It produces a byte-exact ROM image using my own assembler, but probably won’t play well with others.

I have posted the patched HDB-DOS for anyone to download:

    http://www.coco3.com/community/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/HDB_DOS_DW3_11D_6551.zip

Both the ROM image and a DSK file are included. The DSK file contains a version of HDB-DOS that can be loaded into RAM (minimum 64K) using LOADM. If you use this version, be careful about pressing the Reset button, as it will erase everything in memory and restart the CoCo. The ROM version does not have that problem.
