One of the problems I am having is getting into programming in OS9 I
am not really clear on what I will need,I am proficient in 6809 assembly
but there seems to be some confusion about the ‘C’ compiler e.t.c. If I buy
the OS9 assembler package is that all I will need to create my own modules?Or
will I have to spring for graphics support modules in some other package?
The ‘C’ scene seems to be pretty confused and since I didn’t learn it I
could do without the hassle at any rate the question is:Do you think the
OS9 assembler package is complete and is it all I will need to begin
assembly programming in OS9?
Robert Louden.
(KURSE)

Canman i have used the patch and it works fine! but i made a copy first and used
the patch on the copy.
ofcourse it took my IBM to copy WARRIOR KING.
AS for making copyes of programs I feal you are allowed to make a backup copy of
a program you have payed for.
as for the patch being Illegal ..well i have goten many such patches for other
program and all most all of em came from Delphi
The Authors my not like the idea as long as you do not try to sell the edited
program i can’t see how it hurts.
but if you use such a program on your original copys I can assure you it will
void any warranty you may have.
so eather mack a backup copy or make sure you know what your doing.

     Glen…just a quick question…
went back to the beginning of Hall III
to check something out. Now, I move
the rubble with the crobar, go south
and get the cloak(leave the lantern)
go north, go north to the Crystal Walls
and drop the ring, type Mine Walls
three times to get the Gem, then get
the Ring back…then N to the pool…
do the Crobar in ground and tie rope
and throw rope…etc..down to cavern
get torch, back up and here I am with
the Ring, Gem, and Torch…now the
question…why can’t I save this spot
on disk…when I go back later all I
get is “The light has gone out–all I
see is darkness” which means I’m dead!
Also, there is only a specific number
of moves you can make to get the Gem
and still go down into the pool…so I
assume that what I have at this point
is required to light the torch…
With all that written…can this
point be saved????Why won’t it…
.??
I haven’t gone so far to give much
away, that is why I asked you on Forum.
As usually I’m a ROYAL ——!!
Thanks Glen…Canman…

  Great, Doyle,

We’re pleased that you are enjoying the SIG . . .

. . . and we’re glad to have you. The more people we have on here,
the more likely you can get help quickly, on whatever the topic is. Do feel
free to chime in with your own two cents worth when you see someone else
asking
for help. They may have a problem that you
have already long since solved.

To those of you that downloaded SEABATTLE:

There is a bug in the play again option caused by the program
bypassing some lines at the beginning.

It causes the screen to distort on disk systems if you play
the game a second time. That is because the ML scroll thinks
it is on a tape system, and tries to scroll the wrong part
of memory.

The cure is to add the following line:

         65 DC=PEEK(308)

This line checks for the presence of a disk controller.

My apologies for any problems this may have caused, and
my thanks to ELM for reporting the problem.

Rainbow scoreboard is based on what user send in. I have seen scores for games
that just can not be done. Like Mega-Bug I wrote for the Color Computer
some six years ago, someone had sent a score in of over 60,000!
The highest score I have ever seen is about 15,000-20,000 range. To get a score
of 60,000 you would have to play for over three hours without ever getting hit
once! This just can not be done with 12 bugs with dead end mazes paths all over
the
place in the high levels.
Rainbow start the score board all over with ever one sending in a pix of the
screen. This should stop some of the flase scores but some will still use
patched games that give unlimited life.
The part of the score that should not change is the hints. It is every
helpful to new users on playing the standard games of the color computer.

Thanks to Rick Adams for the hints and Marty Goodman for the disk transfer
pokes, I’ve found a quick poke to make the tiles blink on a monochrome
monitor in the RGB mode. It looks great!
Just follow the directions in the 8/88 Rainbow to get the program ready to
save to disk. Just before the save, POKE &H3021,0
That’s it! Then SAVEM the program as directed.
This message contains a program for people with a multipack that eliminates
the need to use the cassette.
Do you want to see?

This is the source. Get good ole’ DISK EDTASM out for this one:

42574 5JUL88-1700 Games
Malcolm Mortar to Disk
From: MARTYGOODMAN To: ALL

The “A Mazing World of Malcolm Mortar” is a new CoCo 3 ROM pak being sold
by Tandy, and created by Greg Zumwalt. It’s actually rather interesting to
play because there is a fair degree of choice about strategy.

You must accumulate ordinary and magic bricks and dynamite as you run thru
a maze. You use the ordinary bricks to attempt to wall off and trap two sorts
of meanies… one that chases you and shoots you with quills (each quill
diminishes your score by a certain amount, and when that score gets to zero
you lose) and another that tries to avoid you, but runs around trying to FREE
the other sort of meanie after you trap it. The dynamite you use to blow up
temporary walls that you built. It is also quite possible to wall yourself
into a blind alley… in which case you lose instantly. Every three bouts in
the maze with these creatures, you get a chance to use your magic bricks to
trap the master meanie, Malcolm Mortar. But Malcolm Mortar is wary of you,
and must be lured into the trap you build for him. Should Malcolm Mortar touch
you, you die instantly and the game is over.

It took me quite a number of plays to win. After some practice, I was able
to win after only two sets of trips thru the mazes (using only 6 magic
bricks). Tho I must confess my first win took me three harrowing trips thru
the maze, and I used up nine magic bricks trapping Malcolm.

The display of the scores and stores of bricks and dynamite is done using
an EXCEEDINGLY hard to read font, a real blunder in my opinion. It takes a
good long while be able to distinguish between Greg’s “1′s” and “2′s”. The
most annoying thing about the game is that when you DO win, there is no reward
in terms of a colorful screen display, or even a mere “You Win” message.
Considering how otherwise excellent this game is, and how long you must try
before you win, I see that as a serious deficiency.

Owners of the ROM pak who also have disk systems may want to transfer the
game to disk. This is relatively easy, for the game does not appear to have
been intentionally “copy protected” against transfer to disk. There was one
most interesting technical wrinkle in getting the game to run when it was not
in ROM pak form: you have to turn off the interrupts using software commands
to the PIA chip.

Want to learn how to transfer to disk? (Y/N)

                       Transferring Malcolm Mortar to Disk:

(1) Put tape over just pin 8 of the ROM pak (this pin is labeled with a
numeral 8, and is the first pin on one side of the “underside” of the ROM
pak’s connector.

(2) Turn power to your computer OFF, plug the prepared (taped) ROM pak into
the cartridge port, and power up. You’ll get an Extended Basic power up
message. Type POKE &HFFDE,0 and hit <enter>. Then type POKE &HFF03,&H34 and
hit </enter><enter> again. Now type POKE &HFF90, &HC0. Connect a cassette recorder
to the CoCo. Now save the contents of the ROM pak using the command:

    CSAVEM “MM”, &HC000, &HFEEF, &HA027 </enter><enter>

(3) After saving out one or two copies of the ROM pak data, turn the power to
your computer OFF, and remove the ROM pak and re-attach your disk drive
system. Then power the computer up again.

(4) Load in the tape using the following command:

    CLOADM “MM”, &H7000 </enter><enter>

This will “offset load” the data to start at RAM address $3000.

(5) Next, you need to add a “loader” to get the game to work. The following
EIGHTEEN hex values need to be POKED in to locations $2FE0 thru $2FF9:

1A,50,8E,30,00,CE,C0,00
EC,81,ED,C1,11,83,FE,F0
25,F6,86,34,B7,FF,03,7E
C0,00

That is, type POKE &H2FE0, &H1A </enter><enter>, then type POKE &H2FE1, &H50 </enter><enter> and
so on feeding in to locations 2FE0 thru $2FF9 the above data. Note that in HEX,
we count 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F, so that you will be typing POKE
&HFFEF,&HF0 and POKE &HFFF0, &H25 (look at the last data value in the second row
and the first data value in the third row to see what I mean).

(6) Finally, after you’ve POKED the loader into memory, save the game to disk as
follows:

    SAVEM “MALCM”, &H2FE0, &H6FEF, &H2FE0

    —marty

I believe I owe you some sort of apology:

I FINALLY checked those Springster mods you sent me AGES ago…
which probably are similar, or even identical, to those
you posted later here in the GAMEs SIG.

Not only do they work, but the resultant “cracked” game
no longer has that problem of booting up in an arbitrarily
hard version. (As was the case with MY very earliest
tentative crack).

42235 21JUN88-0018 Games
Shanghai Secret Color Select
From: MARTYGOODMAN To: HARBIE

Roger, I just successfully selected the secret color set in
Shanghai three times in a row. It most certainly IS there,
and is EASY to find if you know EXACTLY where it is.

I slightly misled you… the spot is just a hair ABOVE the middle point
in the screen, vertically. It is only TWO joystick positionning
increments from the left hand edge.

Here’s how to EASILY find the spot:

Look at that selector arrow. Note that the top part of the
arrow image consists of a perfectly HORIZONTAL line.
Position that horizontal top part of the arrow pointer
so it is EXACTLY in line with the black tile that has
a “P” or “plum” in it. This make the arrow positionned
vertically just a hair ABOVE the mid point on the screen.
Now, keeping the arrow in EXACTLY the same vertical position,
move it horizontally to the extreme left hand edge of the screen.
Then, very carefully begin to move the arrow right again.
It will, you will notice, move in small jerks.
After the SECOND jerk away from the left hand edge,
hit the fire button. BINGO! Alternate Color Set.

   —marty

P.S. By the “tile with the plum or P in it” I mean a tile
that is roughly on the left side of te screen, and in the top
row or two of the tiles displayed.

Steve,

I finally COMPLETED all five levels of Mine Rescue in “expert” mode.
I was delighted to discover that, like some other games of yours, and
UNLIKE so many other games, there was a definite END (player wins) POINT
to the game. I completed with my LAST miner (I got killed with my
second to last miner just after rescuing the last victim at level five,
and had one player left to step out of then back in to the
main mine shack to complete the level. My final score was roughly
640,000 (give or take a few points here and there).

Note I made no mods to your original game… (other than my crack
of it, of course).

Congratulations on an excellent piece of work.

The wiley Rick Adams actually did not totally give in
to Tandy on the matter of the color set they specified.
Oh… he gave them the set they wanted, but included a secret
and undocumented means of bringing the game up in the
Amiga color set that he, at the time, preferred.
The secret command to bring up the color set is
extremely obscure. There is a TINY spot in the left hand side of the screen
(if I recall correctly) where one puts the cursor and clicks
at the start up screen to get the Amiga type color set.
By “left hand side of the screen”, I do NOT mean “right up against
the left hand edge”. Also, the spot is QUITE small…
even after Rick gave me rather specific directions for finding it,
it took me MANY MANY efforts… between which I cursed him repeatedly
for teasing me with a false rumor. But, he did tell the truth..
the spot IS there… just is AWFULLY small and hard to get.

41740 7JUN88-1732 Games
Pyramix Modifications
From: MARTYGOODMAN To: ALL

For those of you who have reoved the copy
protection on Pyramix and have a LOADMable file
whose main program file is located starting at
$16D0 and whose code extends to about $4000, here
are some modifications you can do:

The number of men is stored in location $319,
and you can set more men by changing the LDA #$04
at $32E1 to be LDA #$05,6,7, etc. But the display
gets messed up a bit by this.

You can get infinite men with the following mod:

$3668,9, & A = $12 (NOP’s)
$366C = $20

   This NOP’s out a DEC $319 and changes a
subsequent LBNE $370C to a LBRA $370C.

This infinite man fix seems to work pretty
nearly perfectly, tho at Level 6 Round 5 (the very
last level the game offers before it falls back to
level 3 round 1) there seems to be a minor
glitch: If you jump on the left spinning disk, a
tiny piece of it gets left on the screen after it
takes off. Needless to say, I doubt I will EVER
be able to get to that level in the original
protected version, so I will have no way of
knowing whether that glitch is a result of the
infinite man mod, a minor bug in my crack, or
whether it is a minor obscure bug in the original
game.

The serial number is set by an LDX $AA8 at
location $1730 in the game, and $AA8 is set up
inside the initial loader, and so is not part of
most cracked versions. The result would be a
RANDONLY set serial number. You can change $1730
to a load X immediate to fix the serial number at
whatever number you like. I chose LDX #$D903,
which produces a serial number of 55555, a nice,
satisfying number.

For the sake of the enjoyment of crackers and
the protection of royalties of the author, I will
not detail HOW I cracked the game. It is VERY
heavily protected using what appears to be a
version of PIRETECTOR, but is rapidly busted with
an hour or two’s work using one of the popular
“back door / Gordian Knot” approaches commonly
used by some of us crackers.

A proper “front door” approach to Piretector
takes considerably longer, tho is of course more
FUN and more REWARDING. If you want to try a
front door approach to Piretector, prepared to be
intimately familiar not only with Disk Basic and
assembly language, but also with Disk Basic FILE
STRUCTURE and the location of its disk I/O
buffers, for Piretector does some very tricky
things there!

41592 3JUN88-0145 Games
BASH! and MINE RESCUE
From: MARTYGOODMAN To: 6809ER

Finally got my CoCo 3 set up again, and checked out your
games BASH! and MINE RESCUE. NICE WORK! I got a high
score of 150,000 or so on BASH (starting at level 1)
and completed levels 1 thru 10 (tho not all in the same
game!). I found level 11 impossibly hard, and tho I nearly
completed level 12, I did not quite get it. Level 13 and 14
and 15 I did get. There appears to be a level 16,
but apparantly I can’t reach it thru the initial set up screen.

Mine Rescue is a bit more elaborate. Compliment Monique again
on the nice graphics. I found it rather hard… I barely
completed the first level. But then, you KNOW I’m not
much of a game PLAYER. The main problem I had with Mine
Rescue was the difficulty of judging how to throw
the pickax to hit the various meanies… I kept on
missing. Took a lot of practice. I also discovered
I was unable to leap over the snail. That bugged me.

Oh well… a very nice game, none the least.

BASH! shows your touch, tho, as you did in
POPCORN… of taking a VERY simple game
and adding subtleties to it (the pacing in
POPCORN, and the strategy of whether or not
to accept the various F’s and S’s and C’s
in BASH!) to make it quite playable.

Yes… I immediately noticed the SRB background
in the red screens!

Regarding the OTHER game… I spend about
a half hour extracting your DOS loader,
and using that to extract the secondary loader
that you load into $700 thru $1FFF. This secondary
loader that I extracted from BASH! also loaded
MINE RESCUE just fine.

The code of that one (I have a print out of it)
was a bit more tortuous. Clearly you have
yet ANOTHER DSKCON there, and have intimately
joined the special DSKCON sector I/O with your
own technique for storing chunks of data with
their destination.

If I get more time I’ll do the final step
in the crack later.

fyi, the game “Tank Command” in the June 1988 issue of Rainbow uses “artifact
colors”. This means that if you have a CoCo 3/RGB monitor configuration, it
will display only Black & White during game play. The initial screen displays
colors, but when the game is played they go away. Game play itself works fine
and appears to be a darn fine game. I tried applying the patch published in
2/88 Rainbow, but it does not work.

I think I goofed up. I was at my local Radio Shack today getting some new
printer ribbons and saw a game marked down to half price. I said, “what the
hey!” It’s called Biosphere. It is disk based and on the back of the manual
one of the required pieces of equipment is “TV (color recommended)”. When
I run the game on my CoCo 3 and CM8 monitor, all I see is black and white.
Is this the old artifact colors problem? Is it fixable? Should I just take
the game back and exchange it for something else?

Has anyone completed the third mission for the American (42, expert)?
I ran up to SIngapore at full spead but still did not have enough
supplies to get to Perth. Too bad the effort put into the graphics etc
and detail on the submarines is not duplicated in the tactics used by
the enemies. Except for Target Practice Ive not seen any more than
two ships together at one time. Where are the crusiers? And why do
warships outnumber non-warships in encounters at nearly 10 to 1?
Sign me Dissapointed But Still Playing.

39629 23MAR88-2216 Games
SUB BATTLE SIMULATOR
From: GREGWATHEN To: ALL

I have been having numerous problems with the game program SUB BATTLE
SIMULATOR. It is, by far the most challenging action game available
for the COCO (that I have seen), but I have not been able to complete
a game with it yet for various reasons. The following is a list of
bugs that I have run across in the version I have:

       1. The game occasionally crashes and resets itself at
completely random moments.

       2. About 5 hours into the game, it begins displaying strange
characters or just displays messages at random places on the
screen, obscurring the guages and garbling the messages.

       3. Several of the counters are not reset (number of ships
sunk per mission, number of mines deployed per mission) so
these displays are inaccurate.

       4. The total tons sunk is only a total of the last six ships
sunk, it is not cummulative. Even when more than six ships
are sunk on one mission, the total is only of the last six.

       5. There are times when the message “We are aground” is
displayed and forward motion is not allowed, even though the
sub is in the middle of the ocean and the side view shows only
water under her.

       6. At random, the deck gun decides it isn’t going to work
anymore and when this happens, you get the not ready message
(even in the 30 second compession mode) then it fires and no
matter how close you are to the target, you always miss.
Note: This happens even if all instruments are ok.

       7. On the other hand, it is far too easy (and unrealistic) to
sink huge battleships with only a deck gun. I played one game
through 20 battles (the longest this one has gone before crashing)
and not once did I run out of torpedoes.

Am I the only one having these problems? I haven’t heard a thing
about it anywhere. I know the Atari version was buggy too, but I
have heard nothing from the DELPI users yet. I would appreciate
some feedback from others who have used this game. Do I just have
a bad copy?

                               >>> Greg W < <<

THANKS FOR PUTTING ME AT EASE ABOUT THAT. EVERY SO OFTEN I
WOULD START TO THINK ABOUT THAT,
AND AT THE WORST TIMES, TOO (LIKE
DURING A TEST OR AT CHURCH DURING
THE PRAYER) AND THEN I WOULD
BEGIN TO THINK ‘WHAT WOULD HAVE
HAPPENED IF …’. IT’S REALLY
ANNOYING. I LEFT YOU SOME MAIL
(IF YOU HAVEN’T READ IT YET).
I REALLY WANT TO THANK YOU FOR
SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY
TO HELP ME FIND PROGRAMS. I
HOPE I CAN DO SOMETHING FOR YOU
SOMETIME.
I’M HAVING REAL TROUBLE TRYING
TO RUN MY IBM. FIRST I CAN’T
GET THE GRAPHICS TO RUN USING
POKES AND I STILL CAN’T FIND
A BOOK ABOUT THE BASIC IT USES
OR ANYTHING ABOUT ASSEMBLY
LANGUAGE, ALTHOUGH THIS MORNING
I FIGURED OUT HOW TO SAVE MYSELF
SOME TIME EDITING PROGRAMS WITH
THE WORD PROCESSOR (FIRST CHOICE).
I SET THE PATH IN THE AUTOEXEC.BAT FILE AND USED APPEND FOR THE
PROGRAMS THAT PATH WON’T LET ME
USE. BEFORE TODAY IT WAS ALL
GREEK TO ME AND SUDDENLY IT JUST
FELL INTO PLACE. NOW ALL I HAVE
TO DO IS FINISH MY FLOWCHART FOR
THE CHECKERS PROGRAM FOR MY
BROTHER. IT LOOKS LIKE I’LL
HAVE TO MAKE IT A TWO PLAYER GAME
SINCE I’M NOT MUCH INTO TEACHING
THINGS TO THE COMPUTER (LIKE HOW
TO THINK ALMOST INTELLIGENTLY).

   THE ONLY REAL BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
I HAVE IN THE IBM IS THAT THERE
IS NO REAL MAGAZINE (THAT I
KNOW OF) THAT IS ANYTHING LIKE
RAINBOW (TIPS, TECHNIQUES, AND
PROGRAMS). AFTER I GET DONE
WITH THE CHECKERS PROGRAM (I’M
VERY OPTOMISTIC TODAY, I DIDN’T
SAY ‘IF’) I PLAN ON TAKING A STABE

AT SPEECH SYNTHESYS. I WENT TO
THE LIBRARY TO SEE IF THEY HAVE
A BOOK ON DELTA MODULATION BUT
THEY (AS USUAL) HAVE NOT HEARD
OF IT. I THINK THEY ARE ALL
AFRAID OF COMPUTERS. I WISH
THAT WE HAD OUR OLD LIBRARIAN
BACK, AT LEAST SHE HAD SOME
IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.

ALL OF THE CURRENT LIBRARIANS
SEEM TO BE AT LEAST 50 AND TAKE
ABOUT 2 MINUTES TO CHECK OUT
JUST ONE BOOK. I’LL HAVE TO
ASK MARTY ABOUT SUGGESTED
READING MATERIAL.

   THIS MESSAGE IS LONGER THAN
I HAD PLANNED IT TO BE, SO I’LL
GO NOW.

  SEE YOU TER

Thanks for the reply. I’ll get a letter off to them. I really do like thier
games. The latest (I thought) is IRON FOREST which I ordered at the same
time as GANTLET II, and received some time ago, has great graphics. I
ad dropped the COCO market. Hope
to see you and David Dies in Chicago again this year!!

I’ve purchased several other games from
DIECOM (Calindril, Marble Maze, Bouncing Boulders, etc.) and like thier
products, but I am wondering what’s going on?? I hope they have’nt gone
out of business.

Generic bookstores have some interesting books for owners
of Flight Simulator or Sub Battle Simulator.
Both these games were around for other computers long before
their porting to Coco 3.
There are several Fligth Sim books, giving scenarious and races
as well as extra in-depth instructions.

The Sub book covers four different programs, including ours
(it does not cover “Fire One.”). It is mostly general tactics
and strategies, but a separate chapter for each game has lots
of useful hints. I might even sink something beyond a PT Boat
after reading it.

All these books are about $12, well worth it if you plan to
put in the hours that these two simulators require.

Hi I have a CoCo 3 with a 35 drive zero and an 80 track double sided 72ve.
After replacing the cable ( the cable that comes with it has pins pulled) and
getting ADOS3 I was able to get
my 3 1/2 drive to work in both ADOS3 and in
OS-9 level II. Now the problem. I used the “copybank” utility to copy the
disk on to the 3 1/2 but it seems that I can not get the game to run under
OS-9 level II! If there is someone who has done this please let me know!

Have you heard anything lately by Diecom about Gantelet II (or any of their
Sept 1 release games?

Yes, I also ordered Gantelet II from Cinsoft Nov. 3. I got a letter back
from Cinsoft telling me Diecom said another 4-5 weeks.

  Well, still no Gantelet II.

It was nice of Cinsoft to send the letter, though. Things like that are why
I like to order from them.

36599 30DEC87-2316 Games
interbank on ramdisk
From: COLINMCKAY To: ALL

** WARNING! ** This is a long file that details how to put The
Interbank Incident onto a 512k Disto Ramdisk.

Want to read it? (Y/N)

I received a Disto 512k ram disk for Christmas. One of the first
things that I did with it was run The Interbank Incident on it.

Interbank is a graphics adventure that looks on the disks for the
pictures. This quickly becomes tiresome, especially since it comes on
three disks, and you are required to switch disks during the game.
Fortunately, Interbank was designed to be installed on a hard disk
system, and it is easy to install it on a 512k (or larger) ramdisk.

These steps are for a Disto 512k ramdisk, but should apply to any 512k
or larger rampak.

Your will need the following:
Interbank Incident OS9 Level I or II
Disto 512K Rampak RamPak.dr and R0.dd driver and descriptor
3 formatted disks

Once you have the above items, the following steps will move Interbank
to the ramdisk, and enable you to play it from the ramdisk.

1) Backup the three Interbank disks.
2) Boot OS9. It does not matter if it is level I or II.
3) Delete the startup file on Interbank disk 0 (hereafter referred to
as disk 0). This will prevent Interbank from autostarting.
4) Now copy RamPak.dr and R0.dd to disk 0. Put them in the root
directory.
5) Build a new startup file on disk 0.
build startup
load /d0/rampak.dr
load /d0/r0.dd
iniz /r0
format /r0 r “Interbank 512k Ramdisk”
makdir /r0/CMDS
copy /d0/cmds/copy /r0/cmds/copy
6) Make sure that you also copy copy, makdir ,load, iniz and format
to the disk 0 command directory.
7) Now you should have a bootable Interbank disk, and are almost
ready.
Boot the Interbank disk 0. You will see the 512k ramdisk being
formatted. You will then be at the OS9: prompt. You could run the game
from the floppy disk at this point if you wanted to by typing bank.
9) The next step is to copy all the Interbank files to the ramdisk
using the COPYBANK utility provided with the game. (see appendix E of
the Interbank manual. It was originally intended for copying
Interbank to a hard disk.)
Type chx /r0/cmds; chd /r0 Note that copy must be in /r0/cmds
/d0/cmds/copybank
10) You will be asked for the pathlist to the command directory. Type
directory.
Next you will be asked to type in the pathlist to the data
directory. Type /r0. All the data files from all three disks will then
be copied to the ramdisk. Steps 8 through 10 will take about 5 or 6
minutes, but they will be well spent, as you will see in a minute.
11) You are now ready to start the game. Type bank. The game will
start up almost immediately. Once you get past the initial screens,
the graphics change in just a fraction of a second.
12) If you are a OS9 purist, yes there are many other ways to do this.
You could OS9gen yourself a new system disk etc, etc… but this way
will work. There are all sorts of unneeded modules in the Interbank
OS9boot file, including /p, ACIApak, and others.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a message,
either here, or in mail.

Colin McKay (COLINMCKAY)

Hayone solved Madness and the Minotaur? I can’t seem
to get more than one treasure
and no spells. I have been
trying for over a year and a
half (with my younger brothers
help). I wrote a letter to
Scoreboard Pointers, but it may
be a while before I get anything
back from it. It is really
frustrating. I would appreciate
any and all help.
